I've been looking for a new "paralegal" job for over a year now. Jobs are out there, but there are way more PEOPLE than jobs. It makes someone like me screwed. I have just enough experience to be over qualified for entry level jobs, and don't have enough experience for the "experieced" jobs.
Oh yeah, I have had ENOUGH of the "Black Hole of the Internet." What is that you ask? "The Black Hole of the Internet" is when you submit your resume via the requested electronic form, and you never hear anything ever again. No "Thanks for your resume", no "We are reviewing candidates", no "Thanks but we chose someone else". NOTHING. Just a deafening silence; just like a HUGE BLACK HOLE. :(
THEN just to make things more depressing, I heard an article on the radio about how I am part of an entire GENERATIION in the EXACT SAME POSITION. They said it could take 10 YEARS before my career gets back on track. So much for putting together any sort of retirement plan.
My standards are getting lower and lower. At this point, ANY job in the legal field would be nice.
When you gamble big, you either win big, or lose big. Clearly I have lost, BIG TIME. :(
