Yesterday, Eddie decided to let me know EXACTLY how he felt about how often I have left him alone lately.
I was getting ready for work and he was in my room watching, as he always does. Somewhere about the time I finished drying my hair, he started meowing at me, a crazy meow that I'm not used to hearing. I ignored him and continued to get ready.
It didn't take long before I realized he was following me and his eyes were super dilated. This is bad. When his eyes are this dilated is when he pounces on me for no reason. It usually happens at night when I am trying to fall asleep and pet him somewhere he doesn't like, like his chest. It has happened once before when getting ready for work. Something about the flapping of my yoga pants set him off, and I was wearing the same yoga pants. :(
He continued to follow me around the room, watching my pant leg with his dilated eyes and meowing this crazy psycho meow. I was starting to get nervous. I laughed at him and started talking to him in an attempt to cover my fear. It didn't work. He continued to follow me around and was making his way closer and closer. At one point I even put the basket of clean laundry I was digging through between us as a barrier. I am NOT KIDDING! This cat had me running scared! At this point his meow turned into something else. It was more of a howl than anything else.
I walked into the closet to get a shirt, and he followed me, blocking the door so I couldn't get out. I seriously felt trapped! Here I am, a 5'6" HUMAN scared of a 15 pound cat. I honestly stood there trying to figure out how to get out. I really was scared that he would pounce on my leg as I stepped over him!
I finally decided that I didn't have a choice but to chance it. I slid around the closet as far away from him as I could get and slid out the door.
I gathered the few things I needed for work and got the hell out of there! By the time I got home, he was back to normal. :)
LMAO!
