The easy way or the hard way?

So, I was on the phone with my sister earlier this evening. Jon was upstairs putting Chloe to bed because apparently she had been having a hissy fit. A few minutes into our conversation he came downstairs to take Lucy to bed. She got upset because she did not want to go to bed. So Jon asked her "Do you want to do this the easy way or the hard way?" I heard her answer, through the phone, clear as day. "The hard way." Jen and I started laughing, hard. Then Lucy started crying. Jon had walked over and picked her up. Apparently she then said "the easy way, the easy way." (I couldn't hear this over my and Jen's laughter.) Jon then set her back down and she walked with him to bed.

After a few minutes of silence, Jon returned to the living room, giggling.
Apparently she changed her mind again once they got upstairs and wanted to do things the hard way again. He couldn't laugh at her when she was present, so he was laughing now that she was safely tucked into bed.

I love my nieces. I'm so glad they aren't mine!
