So at the end of January, I stepped on my left foot wrong. 4 weeks, 3 doctors visits, and a physical therapy appointment later, I was finally diagnosed with tendinitis. What sucked is that I had to convince the first 2 doctors that something really was wrong and that I wasn't just whining about a little bit of pain. The first dr made it clear that she thought I was just being a wimp. The 2nd dr tried to tell me the pain I was in was normal healing pain, until I burst into tears telling him there was NO WAY the pain I was in was a) normal or b) okay. At that point he gave me a couple of prescriptions and a note to stay off my feet. The 3rd dr told me I had a severe sprain and that I needed to see a physical therapist.
The worst part about all this is that I haven't been able to work at HD because of it all. I get a 3rd of my income from HD, so this has been less than ideal (silver lining: I don't have to pay rent in March).
On top of the pain in my left ankle and going to physical therapy twice a week I got a cold last week, which over the weekend (while I was packing and moving) turned into something more. The headache I could deal with, I was even able to work around the fever that would peak at 103, the sore throat was bad, but not unbearable. It was once I began coughing so hard that my chest hurt that I had enough.
It was PATHETIC! I would pack for an hour or so, then rest for 2 hours. This went on all day Saturday. Sunday, the fever wasn't going down, but I couldn't rest any longer. My friends were coming over at noon to help move the big furniture. It got to the point where I was just digging the furniture out instead of packing. We got all the stuff out that I can't move by myself, but by the time we were done, I was a MESS! My cheeks were on FIRE from the fever, I had NO energy, I was going back and forth between roasting, chills, and this weird thing where I was hot with a cold sweat. When it wasn't any better Monday morning, I called the doctor. He decided that I had a sinus infection that was draining down my throat and he was worried it would turn into bronchitis. More pain meds, and some cough medicine later I was sent home.
It is now Tuesday and I have a LOT to do towards moving out and I haven't been to work the last 2 days. I am feeling better today, but that doesn't mean much. It is good to know that the meds the dr gave me seem to be working.
