Useless!

So I called the airline HR department today to see if I could get info on what I should do to become a candidate for a paralegal position with the airline.

It was the most frustrating conversation I think I have ever had IN MY LIFE. That is saying something because I have had a long line of jobs that forced me to interact with some of the STUPIDEST people EVER born. And this bitch topped them all!

She wouldn't tell me anything. She wouldn't tell me what the minimum requirements for being a paralegal are. She wouldn't tell me if it is a better idea to take a crappy position in the legal department or to get a paralegal position with a law firm or if years of PA experience with my current employer will do the trick. She wouldn't tell me ANYTHING! Except how much she likes her job and how she would never think of getting a position with another company. It didn't seem to matter to her when I told her that I was doing the same thing, that was why I wanted the information.

My favorite was when she told me that I would have to "take a gamble" and see if it works out. Take a gamble? Are you kidding me?! Take a crappy position with the airline just to find out that they require a minimum amount of paralegal experience, which I don't have because I have been working for them OR get years of paralegal experience with a law firm, only to find out I will never be able to be a paralegal with the airline because they only hire people from within the department. That has got to be the most ridiculous answer I have EVER heard in my from someone supposedly in a position of supporting employees!

I am going to call back tomorrow and see if I can get someone else who will be more helpfull.
