Chloe's Birthday

Can you believe she is 5 already! I sure can't! My life has changed in so many ways in the last 5 years. When Chloe was born I didn't have a job and I was in the middle of my first semester at UVSC seeing if I want to get a degree in paralegal studies. Now I have my degree in Paralegal studies, my first entry level paralegal job, a job with an airline and I no longer live in Utah. Oh yeah, and I have a great boyfriend. Things sure are different.

Anyway... Chloe wanted to have her birthday party at a local ice rink so I strapped on some skates and we went ice skating. The standard birthday crew was present Jon's mom and her parents, his youngest brother Matt and his middle brother Chris's wife Stacey and daughter Jayleigh (Jayleigh is 4 months older than Lucy). Chris and Jon's dad were unable to be there because they received a call Saturday evening that they had to work. Niether was happy about it. Jon's cousin's daughter Alyssa was there as well. (Jen and I can't stand Alyssa. She is the red headed devil and not worth the blog space to describe why we feel that way!) Jen's whole family was there, Mom, Dad, Lynda (Dad's girlfriend) and myself. This was the first time I had attended and event with my Mom and Lynda in the same room. It really wasn't all that different from how Jen's and Jon's family's interact with each other.

Not everyone skated. Only Jon, Matt, Alyssa, Chloe, Lucy, Jayleigh, myself and Mom skated. It took me quite a while before I remembered how. Lucy was walking around better than I was when I first put them on. It was pure comedy! It took several laps before I remembered what I was doing. I haven't skated in close to 15 year after all! At least I didn't fall. I took Chloe around a couple of times and had a good laugh watching adults drag Lucy and Jayleigh around the rink.

All in all it was a lot of fun and Chloe got a HUGE haul. More on my trip to SLC later. Today I fly back to Phoenix with my Dad and Lynda. Tiger is waiting for me at home. We are going to turn our "guest room" (I haven't had a single guest) into a storage room. No fear, if you want to visit I have a back up plan!
