My New Job

Well, I finally decided to send an email to the guy who sent the job offer letter to ask which job I had been given.

It turns out that I will be working in the Forecasting department. This is good and bad at the same time, but it is mostly good. The bad part is that I was really hoping to start in Pricing. The impression I got was that if you start in Pricing you will have a better understanding of Forecasting. I really did want to start at the bottom (yes, I know I'm weird).

The good news is that I will have a flexible schedule (read as: go in when I want then work 8 hours and go home OR go in when I want, work 10 hours and take a 3 day weekend), I'm also pretty sure that the position pays more.

So here are all the benefits of my new position:

-I get to make my own hours, which will make it easier to get a 2nd job.
-There is a bus that picks up in front of my apt and stops in front of the building I will be working in. It will cost me $17 for a bus pass every month, which is a LOT cheaper that gas!
-The dress code is business casual, and includes jeans on Fridays and modest shorts in the summer. (my current employer doesn't even do casual Friday, much less jeans!)
-There is a Curves just over a mile from the building and we get a discount with our ID cards.
-It is a little over 5 miles from my house and I get all the same travel benefits, only now I will have more free time to ACTUALLY travel!

I realize these probably sounds silly to you, but I am excited about these things!
