Our Day at the pool

So, my friend Trav needed a break from his life, so he came to visit over the weekend. I called my dad and made arrangements so we could use the pool at the hotel on Saturday. Well, my dad took it one step better and got us a room for the day so we could leave our stuff there and charge stuff to.

I can only bring 4 other people in with me so I invited Phil to join us. I work with Phil and he's a cool guy. I really wanted Trav and Phil to meet. I then also invited Manuel, also from work. Phil and Manny are friends so this was a good plan because they would all get along. I then decided it was time to invite a chick to balance out the testosterone to estrogen levels. So I invited Maribel, also from work. (YES all my friends are from work!) Maribel, Phil and I used to all work on the same team, so I knew everyone would get along, and if they guys went off to do guy things, I would still have someone to talk to.

Trav and I picked up Phil and Manny. We all swung buy In-n-Out burger then we headed over to the hotel. (insert "I am a dumbass" story here)

By the time I got back to the hotel, changed, and out the pool, I realized that I had NO IDEA where to find the boys on the LARGE pool deck. I started walking around the lazy river, hoping to run into them there. I finally see Phil. I make my way to him. Trav is already in the river and Manny is already trying to get some chicks #. Not a single part of this scene surprises me. Trav and I hung out at the lazy river all day, while Phil and Manny wandered off to find the smoking area, followed by a game of water basketball. Eventually they joined us in the lazy river. We floated around, drank and bullshitted until well after the jets were turned off.

We finally decided we should probably leave so we headed up to the room. There we found a basket of goodies waiting for us. (I later learned that the General Managers Secretary had made arrangments for us to get that. I sent her a thank you email this morning.)

It had been a perfect day for the pool. It was overcast, but not cold. This meant you could just float around and not worry about being real hot, but there was nothing to give you the chills either.

We finally headed home somewhere between 6:30 and 7.

It was a good, relaxing day.
