First, I think I need to put Eddie in the carrier and drive around in the car without actually going anywhere. It dawned on me as he was REFUSING to get in the carrier that the only time I take him anywhere is to go to the vet, and he doesn't like the vet, and today's trip didn't help any.
The vet says that he has a respiratory infection as well as allergies. I have to give him an allergy pill and liquid antibiotics twice a day for the next 10 days. She administered the first dose to show me how to do it. She makes it look so easy, but I'm sure it isn't. He took the pill like a champ. She told me to "wash it down" with the antibiotic. I am SO glad she gave it to him. She said that if he doesn't like it, he will drool. He was drooling. Then I noticed that he was FROTHING AT THE MOUTH! No joke, the cat looked like a picture of an animal with rabies! I asked if that was normal, she replied "Yep, he doesn't like it." She then wiped his mouth with a tissue and put him back in the carrier.
In other news: I have had Eddie on a diet for the last few months. I was excited to see how much he had lost. It was like watching The Biggest Loser. What will the number be?
WHAT?! That can't be right!
Eddie has GAINED almost 2 pounds! The vet wants him to weigh 13-14 pounds and he now weighs 17.9! The vet told me how to cut his food back EVEN MORE! He's not going to like this AT ALL! He was already pissed with how little I was feeding him. I see many more days of being woken up with a swat to the face in my future. :(
