The new job at the airline

Well, I have finished my first week of training at the airline. 3 more weeks to go. So, I am the only person in my training class. That's right. A class of one. It is good and bad, all at the same time. If I know something, we skim over it. If I don't, they explain it until I do. The thing is, it is REALLY obvious when I don't know something. When they ask a question, there is NO ONE to answer BUT ME! When they give you time to work figure out a question, there is no one to wait for BUT ME! It was intimidating at first, but everyone is really cool about it and they don't think I'm stupid if I say "I don't know." Thank god!

Anyway, I really think I am going to like this job, a LOT! The work is interesting and right up my alley. There are around 50 people in my group and they are all really nice. I met the entire floor over the course of the week. All of our jobs relate to one another, and they all seem really nice.

So far I have been most impressed with the manager of my group and the VP of the department. I was told that they both really want to meet the new people and they both new that I had come from the airport. This really impressed me, because it was clear that they really did want to get to know everyone in their department.

Oh yeah, it is really nice having a business casual dress code again. My wardrobe has doubled in size! And we get to wear jeans on Friday, as long as we wear a company shirt. Right now the only one I have is from my airport uniform, but I will be purchasing a nice one as soon as I can afford it. :)
