Help! My coat is caught in the door of the fun bus!

I return from my cruise and check my account to see which transactions have gone through and which haven't. My account in negative several hundred dollars. WHAT?! What happened now?! I go looking through, my paycheck hasn't gone in. WHAT THE @$#%^@# ?!

There is nothing I can do about it on a Saturday, and my mail is being delivered on Monday. I will wait to see if I get a live check or a direct deposit form before calling anyone.

I get my mail Monday night. No paycheck, no direct deposit form. What is going on?!

Tuesday - I call the temp agency to find out what is going on. The girl tells me it takes 1-2 weeks for the new direct deposit to kick in. (If I didn't previously explain, this employer has to CANCEL my first request then enter the new info. It is just like being hired all over again. You have to wait a few weeks for dd to kick in. I tried to see if there was any other option, but no, this is my only choice.) I tell her this was the 3rd week and I had seen the prenotification on my account. She puts me on hold to find out what is going on. It turns out that my first account info was canceled, and the new info was entered. Then SOMEONE found the cancel letter and canceled the NEW dd info. Only in my world does this happen. She tells me that they will re-enter it, but that it will take 1-2 weeks before the dd kicks in. Okay, I have been pretty cool so far, but ARE YOU KIDDING?! "What about my paychecks?" Live checks will be mailed to me. I let her know this is not okay. With dd, I get paid on Wednesday. When the check is mailed, I'm LUCKY if I get in on Saturday. She tells me I can come and pick it up. I let her know that I don't feel I should have to waste my lunch hour to come and get the check when it was now their error. She tells me that she will talk to her manager about having someone deliver it to me each week. Not ideal, but it will work.

As for the missing paycheck, she tells me to let her know if I get it or she will put a stop payment on it, have it reissued, and delivered to me.

My paycheck was not in the mail last night.

I called this morning and she is going to have it stopped and reissued.

Now, back to the bank. I print my statement and redo the balances as if my paycheck had been deposited on time. I then call the girl who helped with everything 3 weeks ago. I tell her I am willing to pay for the legitimate nsf fees, but given the situation, do not feel I should have to pay for the others. She puts me on hold and asks a manager. They agree to refund the fees if my employer will send a letter explaining what happened. Cool, they have already agreed to do that.

Seriously, what did I do? I'm pretty sure I have made up for more than my karmic debt, if one was created, from the AWESOME deal I got on my apartment.
