Tonight I went to an event with the singles group, Adventures 2000. We met at a local casino to play Texas Hold 'em. Someone at the Casino screwed up and we ended up playing Blackjack instead. After a few hands giving everyone the chance to learn, we started a tournament.
Just to clarify, we were playing with real chips, but no money. We were each given $3,000 in chips. It was the first and only time in MY LIFE I will play in a casino with $25, $100, and $500 chips.
I came in 2nd during the 1st round with about $5000 in chips. I won a baseball cap from the casino.
At the end of the second round I came in 1st with $7050 in chips! It was pretty surreal to have that much in my hands. I didn't win a prize with that win.
The won the 3rd and final round. I have no idea how much I had, I was too excited I won! I won a $50 gift certificate to a nearby Japanese restaraunt that I have wanted to go to for a while.
The people who own the singles club were the ones giving away all the gifts. During the games the owner would come up with random situations for someone to win a prize. Not once, but TWICE, the owner walked up to the table and offered up a cool prize for the next person who got Blackjack. BOTH TIMES I had JUST gotten Blackjack on the previous hand! By the second time, even the dealer agreed with me that it was messed up.
When the tournament was over, the 2nd prize that had been offered up for a Blackjack hadn't been given out. I started trying to talk the owner into giving it to me because I had been screwed twice! It didn't take long, and he gave me the prize. 2 tickets to ANY show at the CASINO!
The best part of the whole thing is that I was wearing this shirt. :)
