Just like anywhere else, Facebook is running rampant with "getting to know you" chain letters. I got this one last week that asked for "25 Random Things About Me" I was surprise how easy it was to think of 25 things. What I wasn't expecting was for my brain to keep popping up with MORE random stuff. I have decided to post the entire list here on my blog, just in case there is someone out there reading this, and you might be interested in learning just a little bit more about me.
Because my blog automatically posts onto Facebook I am going to list the additional things I have thought of first, that way you don't have to read the entire list again. :)
A) I was a volunteer for the NFL Experience when the Super Bowl was in Phoenix last year. It was a lot of fun.
B) I was supposed to volunteer on the day of the Super Bowl, but went to Costa Rica with friends instead.
C) I had the opportunity for a VERY well paying job working for the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in 2002. I didn't take it because I would have had to put off an entire semester of school because my school was one of the only ones still open during the Olympics.
D) I did get a volunteer position with the Olympics. I help build the packets that where on all the seats during both the opening and closing ceremonies. We then had to put the packets on the chairs. Each packet was assigned a specific chair. I have really cool pictures from inside the stadium taken while we were working.
E) I still have my ugly green coat from volunteering and will never give it away.
F) I have been on TV a couple of times. Usually something to do with Primary Children's hospital. It is amazing how many people recognize you and how long they will remember they saw you on TV.
G) I graduated from college 10 years after I graduated from high school. Mostly because I flunked out after the first year and a half because I NEVER went to class. I took off the required 18 months, decided to take school seriously then had to retake a LOT of classes to bring my GPA up. It wasn't easy but I did it and I will never regret it. :)
H) I had jaw surgery when I was 16 and had my jaw wired shut for 5 weeks and 6 days. It was MISERABLE. I lost a ton of weight and 3 months later my hair fell out. It is a good thing I have a lot so you couldn't tell!
I) When I was 19 I took a road trip with a friend from SLC to Boston. I got home and a few days later took another road trip with a different friend from SLC to Corvalis, OR and back. I saw both oceans a week apart. That was cool. :)
J) I didn't date until I was in college because no one in high school ever asked me out.
K) I HATE commuting. I live as close to work as I can. Right now I live 1.5 miles from work and that ISN'T the closest I have lived. The closest I ever lived was 2 blocks. I walked every day and LOVED it.
L) I've wanted to be a ski hostess at Snowbird since I was a kid. I am planning on doing that in my retirmement. ;)
M) I learned to snow ski when I was 5 (the first winter we were in SLC). I have been in love with it ever since. I still have a season pass to Snowbird and my ski stuff is still in UT.
N) I am a ski snob and I admit it. I have skiied Squaw Valley twice and have no interest in skiing in CA or NV ever again. It would have to be free before I would even begin to contemplate it. Even though in live in AZ, I will probably never ski here.
O) I enjoy making home brewed beer.
P) I like learning about wine.
Q) I've broken my nose 3 times. Because the bridge of my nose is fake, my nose looks wide instead of crooked.
R) I own 2 TiVos and set up a wireless network specifically for them. Using for my computer is just a happy side effect.
S) I have 2 Harmony remotes, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, and believe EVERYONE should have one. You can get them for a really good price off ebay.
T) I LOVE ebay.
U) I love snowflakes and butterflies. It has been said that I would like dog shit as long as it was shaped like a snowflake. Although that isn't true, it isn't that far off. :)
V) I wanted to join the Navy after I graduated from college. I wasn't able to because of my medical "issues."
W) I have enough liquor/wine in my apartment for HUGE party, even though I don't drink very often.
X) I can probably drink you under the table.
Y) I have never had a hangover. Not once.
Z) I don't have any tatoos. I want one and don't want one, all at the same time.
1) I was born with 2 thumbs on my right hand. I had surgery to remove the second one when I was 18 months old.
2) I had 18 surgeries by the time I was 17 years old. Most were because of my cleft lip and hard palate.
3) TiVo and iPod are 2 of the greatest inventions EVER.
4) I have moved 17 times in 14 years. The longest I lived in one place was 4 years. I hate moving
5) It took 3 schools, 5 majors, and 8 years; but I finally got my BS in Paralegal Studies.
6) I love being a Paralegal; but I am still looking for my nitch in the legal world.
7) I have only owned 2 cars and they were both Subarus, I've had the second one for 12 years and it is still going strong.
8) My dad is the person I look up to and respect the most.
9) I LOVE dark comedies
10) Star Wars rules.
11) My sister's 12 year old cat recently "retired" to AZ to live with me, even though I am allergic to cats, and I couldn't be happier.
12) I only skipped 1 class, one time in high school. It was yearbook and I went with my friends to seminary.
13) My dad's family is Lutheran, my mom's family is Mormon. Neither of my parents are religious. My parents didn't raise my sister and me in any religion.
14) I always thought I didn't like being hot, it turns out that I don't like humidity. I like living in AZ because it is only humid during Monsoon season, and even then is isn't TOO bad. It is a LOT easier once you retrain your brain to be inside during the summer and outside during the winter.
15) Very few people agree with me that it is humid in AZ.
16) I have been working 2 jobs or working and going to school for most of my adult life. Working 70-80 hours a week, 7 days a week, is normal for me.
17) I enjoy speaking in front of large groups.
18) I have only had 2 serious boyfriends. The longest relationship I have been in only lasted 15 months.
19) I am actively looking for Mr. Right.
20) I have one sister and she IS younger than me, even though she is the one who is married with 3 kids.
21) My sister and I make a great team. She comes up with the ideas and I make them happen.
22) I am allergic to milk
23) I have had lots of random second jobs including: hostess at Denny's; cashier at Home Depot; and life guard at Raging Waters (a water park in SLC).
24) I have never worked in food service.
25) I have wanted to work for an airline for as long as I can remember.
