Why did the duck cross the road?

I have NO IDEA, but I do know that I had to stop and wait for her. That's right, I had to wait for not one, but TWO ducks to cross the road yesterday.

I was pulling into my apartment complex and realized there was a duck in the road right in front of me. I slammed on the brakes (it was a good thing I was going slow since I had just finished one turn and was preparing to turn the opposite direction). The duck stopped, looked at me, then continued to waddle across the road. She could not have cared less that I was there. Didn't even do the "you startled me so I'll half heartedly fly" thing. Nope, just kept walking.

About 10-15 feet behind her was her husband. He too could not have cared less that I was there. No joke. I had to wait for BOTH ducks to waddle across the road before I could continue.

I was just glad I saw her in the first place. I would have felt really bad if I had hit her.

knock on wood- I have never hit an animal. There was a Pug in the neighborhood who would nap in the road and just sit there and watch cars approach. Once they stopped she would sit a momment longer and then slowly walk to the site of the road.
