For those that don't know, my Monday - Friday job is located across the street from the reservations building for the airline I work for. How's that for a weird coinsidence?
Anyway, I walked into the Wal-mart near work and this lady walked in next to me. I saw that she still had her ID badge hanging around her neck. I have had so many jobs that require me to have ID that it is REDICULOUS. I HATE when I forget to take my ID off when I am in public. The problem is that I wear it so much that I forget I have it on. I know many people that feel the same way.
I walked up to said lady and said, very nicely and quietly, "You have your badge on."
She looked at me like I was some kind of freak. "I work for ______ airline."
"Whoopty shit," I thought, "So do I."
What I said was "I hate when I go places and forget to take off my badge, so I thought I'd let you know you still have yours on."
Her, with attitude, "I'm on my way to work."
Now I'm kind of stammering "Ok, I just wanted to let you know you had your badge on still in case you had forgotten to take it off" and I walked away. I think she said something after me, but I really didn't care.
I was on the phone with my sister at the time. She confirmed that the lady was a bitch and I hadn't been rude.
Whatever bitch. Just don't be a bitch to someone else because now they have your name, employer and badge number.
